DropDrop Network wants the stories that illustrate the beauty of daily goings-on to be accessible for everyone.
Joanne Nihom and Marijn Schrieken are fascinated by people’s versatility and flexibility. Daily news reports suggest differently, but what they see worldwide is people working together in everyday life, regardless of cultures or backgrounds. There are people collaborating in arts, culture, education and health. Often in the most sensitive and painful areas they share the emotions of loss, poverty and hatred, and that’s precisely where they come together and realise that it all revolves around living together, even with the so-called enemy. That it’s about working together to build a future for their children and grandchildren. All those stories, big and small, fail to reach us through the media. The result is a one-sided, distorted, negative image that only incites more negativity. Not for nothing is said ‘no news is good news’ or you could even say ‘good news is no news.’
For Joanne and Marijn it’s time for a positive message that isn’t exaggerated or naive to offset the negative, but simply because that’s what real life is like. The focus is on the connection, not war. It’s about love, not hate. It’s about mutual understanding. It’s about you and me and our lives. It’s time for DropDrop Network
